The boys and I spent a couple of hours on Friday exploring the Adelaide Central Markets! 

And on the way back to the car they each got to choose 1 thing from the lolly shop!!!

Happy Birthday Annie!!!

Today is my Mum's birthday. 

As soon as I reminded the boys this morning they all wanted to know how old is she now! 

We have made Annie a cake as a surprise, so I have scheduled this post for after we see her so I don't ruin the surprise!!!

When Tate was born Mum decided she wanted to be called Nannie Annie. Well, Tate had other plans! Nannie Annie turned out to be too much of a mouthful for him so he shortened it to Annie and it's stuck!! EVERYONE (including my friends and their kids) all call my mum Annie!!!

Tired Boys!!

Is it just me or are all school kids exhausted at this time of year???

Term 4 seems to bring more tears, tantrums and sleep ins. They all just seem to be compltely and utterly exhausted.

This is Ethan's first year of school and he really has been a little sponge and the effect that has had on him is definately starting to show. This week will be a hard one for my tired and exhausted little guy, his school has a week of swimming lessons. So it should be an interesting week.

How are your kids holding up at this time of year?? Are they tired too or is it just mine??

Sick kids

This week for me started with the mother of all trantrums from my 11 year old. He is grounded for a week as a consequence.

In the early hours of Tuesday morning he woke up vomitting, he spent Tuesday at home from school sleeping on the couch. Tuesday afternoon my youngest told me that his chores were making him feel sick and being the wonderful mother I am I thought he was just trying to get out of his chores, until he came running into the house and vomitted all over the toilet.

He spent Tuesday night vomitting and sleeping most of Wednesday morning. By the time the other two boys got home from school wednesday he was right as rain.

My middle son always surprises me. He is the one you would think would be sick everytime something is going around but is always the one that never gets sick.

He was born 8 weeks early at 32 weeks and now has the most amazing ammune system. His doctors are always surprised by it too.

Such a horrible feeling when your children are sick and there is nothing you can do to help them. But I am happy to say we have now left spew town and hope to not be returning for a very long time.

Friday Favourites - Things I like to do with the kids.

Now that I am a stay at home mum while I look for another job I have more time to spend with the boys, which is fabbo!!

Here are some of the things we enjoy doing around home.

The Local Park

This is always a big hit with the boys. It is also fenced in and has an area of grass, and a shelter with some table and chairs, so once they have had enough of the equipment they can kick the footy or soccer ball around and Mum can sit at the table and read or plan blog posts.

Running

I know this doesn't sound like something that the kids would be all that interested in but when I suggest it they get very excited about it.

We normally head down to the Little Athletics Oval that is at the end of our street. It has a long jump pit, a 400 metre running track and in the middle of the oval an 80 metre sprint track. (All on the grass)

Tate, Damon and I normally run laps while Ethan plays in the sand. Ethan will run with us for maybe a lap but get bored and prefers to play in the sand.

It's awesome for burning some of the extra energy these boys seem to have and they enjoy it as much as I do. Win for everyone really.

Bike/Scooter Riding

There is a smallish riding track not far from home so when we have some time we load the trailer up with the kids bikes or scooters and head there. They LOVE it. There is all sorts of ramps and big and small half pipes. I sit and cringe but they seem t know what they are doing.

Mt Lofty

The kids and I enjoy going up to Mt Lofty there is lots to see and lots of space for Kite flying and football/soccer ball kicking. The boys love wandering through all the tracks and finding things they haven't seen before. The fresh air and exercise is just a bonus really.

Movie Night

One of our favourite ways to spend a saturday night at our house is a movie night. The boys get to take turns picking the movies that we watch and it always involves popcorn.

I have been following Wordless Wednesday on lots of blogs for a while now and am very excited to be participating for the first time. So check out Wordless Wednesday HERE!!!!

All about us. Part 4

Little Ethan's not so little anymore. He will be 5 in November and starting school in Term 1 next year, which I am no where near ready for! Who gave these kids permission to grow up, Mama's not ready for this!!!

Anyway, more about Ethan.

I think that he is a little old man trapped inside a 4 and a half year old's body. He is wise beyond his years!! He idolises his big brothers, which I know they love but also get frustrated with at times.

He loves everything that his dad loves. His favourite music includes Metallica and Pendulum, I know what your thinking. Metallica, really????? He knows all the words to all the songs its actually quite amazing!! He also loves Star Wars and can pretty much explain any of the movies to you.

His favourite colour is yellow and he love Transformers and the Cars movies. You will often find Ethan quietly playing with his cars on his car mat in his room, and he can do this by himself for hours!!

He makes friends easily and everyone loves him, he is very easy going.
