Marathon Monday - Week 2
I can't believe I have survived another week!!! Amd I am feeling fantastic!!
I been motivating myself with a few goals and rewards! Rewards, oh how I love rewards!!!! But who doesn't right??
My first goal is to make it half way through this 12 weeks program, so once I get to the end of Week 6 I am going to go out and buy some new running clothes! That makes me very excited!!!!
Ok so who wants to know how week 2 went??
Week 2
19.2km running
30min cross train (swimming)
I ran a total of 20.1km this week! YAY me!!
I walked again for my 30 min cross train!
So I am very happy to be a little bit further on than I had expected, but it's only going to get harder from here. But hey BRING. IT. ON!
Week 3
22.4 km running
40 min cross train (I am hoping to go swimming but I think it will be a walk)
I am swapping my long run from Sunday to Saturday as Saturday is the AFL grand final I am planning on having a few drinks, so I am going to do my run so it's done and sunday I will go for a walk!
Logical I know!!!

Marathon Monday - Week 1 **AGAIN**
I recently bought the book "Marathon - The Ultimate Training Guide" by Hal Higdon, which has given me the motivation, advice and knowledge I needed to give this Marathon a real shot!
Firstly I have started doing something that I should have been doing and something that I make sure my children do before they leave for school each day. It's something simple but has really been making such a big difference.
Eating Breakfast - I know I can hear the gasps, I always make excuses and never have the time but I have been getting up half an hour earlier than normal and making sure I have something.
In the book it has some training schedules so I chose to start with the Half Marathon Novice, this time I'm not going to be writing on here each day's kilometres but the weeks total kilometres.
So let's get started:
Last week was Week 1:
The total km's for the week was 19.2km and 30mins cross training.
I am very pleased to say that I made it through week 1 having completed the 19.2km and the cross training.
For the 30 minutes cross training I went for a 30 minute walk
Week 2
19.2km running
30 min cross train (swimming)
I am also hoping to loose some weight with all this training, so I guess we will see how that goes!
Bye for now

Bags, Bags, Bags...
I am on kind of a roll with the organising and decluttering of my house.
Today I decided to fix the area where the boys dump thier school stuff each afternoon.
So we started with this....

So we started with this....
Then I popped down to Ikea and bought a book shelf and some boxes.
I also took down my husbands Metallica picture (YAY!!!) and this is how it turned out!
I think it is pretty good, if I do say so myself!! I think all I need is a picture above the shelf to finish it off.
The box next to thier school bag is for things of thiers that I find around the house. At the end of each week they need to empty the box and put it all away.
I am LOVING all this organising and am looking forward to another project but now I just need to decide what to do next!!!
Thanks for popping over, see you next time.

Friday Favourites - A bit of a change up!!
So I have been SOOOOO slack with my Friday Favourites but I have decided to continue doing it but change it up a little.
I am going to do 3 instead of 5 as i sometime find it a little difficult to find 5!
I would love some ideas for topics and once I can work out how I will add a linky thingy too so everyone can join in!
So we kick friday favourites off again next week and the topic will be "Spring Finds"
Looking forward to see you all back then.

A change is as good as a holiday.....Right???
I am very excited that I was able to spend the first few days of Spring cleaning my house with the help of my mum! Man, that women loves to clean!!!
My house is now sparkling and smells lovely and is ready for the beautiful weather that is coming!
During my spring clean I decided to turn the bottom of my fridge into a blackboard. My fridge is older than I am. It was my mum and dad's when they first got married. It still works like new but it looks its age.
So I gave it a bit of clean, then an under coat.
Then a few coats of blackboard paint and voila.

I think the boys are more excited than I am about the new blackboard. Now to print some photos to make the top of the fridge pretty.
Next is the area where the boys keep there school bags.
See you next time

Colour Coded Kids!!
I am very lucky that my boys all like different colours! It makes colour coding things much easier!!
Tate loves Red
Damon loves Blue and
Ethan loves Yellow
My mum found thick tape in thier 3 colours and now we use it to label and mark everything, iPod/DS/portable DVD players and chargers, iPods (for quick refernce), books, pencils everything that needs identifying quickly.
The kids toothbrushes and towels are even colour coded, saves lots of arguements when I ask who left thier towel on the floor?!?!
The boys each have a display folder that has all of thier school reports and awards in it. Also colour coded.
I find that it keeps them organised, with less fighting over who's is what and it's easy to tell whose is whose.
The kids love the system and as soon as they get new things they ask me to mark it for them.
Do you have an organisational system for your house?
